Members present were Billi Jo, Virginia, Irene, Darrell, Lloyd, Vern, Larry, Lynnette and Connie.

Minutes of the meeting of April 12, 2011 were read and approved as corrected.

Irene reported she had received $500.00 donation from Hayden Thompson and a note saying he would not be able to attend. Balance in checking account is $7,420.29. Sales of calendars are continuing.

Connie mentioned that she had visited with Larry Wanberg and he said he had a short movie of his area which included pioneers and would be willing to show this at our Kick-Off Ceremony on Friday evening. She will get more information on this as he will be back in Towner in May and also will be here for the celebration. He has volunteered to be available for whatever we may need.

Irene mentioned she thought we should have a movie at the school for children possibly in the band room or multipurpose room during the program at the school. Lynnette volunteered to chaperone.

Larry will visit with Mrs. Marshall about the use of the different areas of the school.

Lloyd had talked to the Johnsons and informed them we would want them to play at the school.

Larry reported that Tom Childress will donate $500.00 toward trophys for the car show. A lengthy discussion was held regarding whether we should have trophys or cash prizes. Motion died for lack of second. This will be decided at a later date.

Discussion on insurance on games and other activities. Billi Jo reported she had furnished Curt Broe of Western Insurance all the information needed for insuring the games.

Billi Jo reported the cook book was typed and she would be doing the lay out.

Decided to have the Rhubarb contest at the Senior Center and we would get a panel of judges. Any desert or confection made of rhubarb would be acceptable. Individuals furnishing could also bring extra for sales. This will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday. Billi Jo will get something in the paper on this. She thought the Extension Office should contact Homemakers Club also on this event and we could advertise on our Web Site.

Discussion on advertising on both placemats and bookmarks and decided we would do both. Billi Jo reported on the grant and the funds available for advertising.

Larry reported that there is one gun left and we should receive $800.00 from sale of guns.

It was decided we would need to meet again next week on Tuesday, May 10th to finalize the Schedule of Events. Connie will type this up and send out for corrections and/or additions prior.
